Training Services
Preventing and resolving conflict at the earliest opportunity and lowest possible level saves agencies both time and money. Employees with good skills in collaborative problem-solving and conflict resolution help sustain a positive, productive workplace, one where conflict is addressed constructively, allowing employees to focus on service excellence.
The Virginia Code mandates that all Commonwealth of Virginia agencies in the executive branch require their supervisory personnel to be trained in conflict resolution and the grievance procedure. To assist agencies with this mandate, EDR offers a variety of training options in conflict management skills and the grievance procedure for all supervisors and employees, at no charge.

Roadshow Training
Budget permitting, EDR will organize regional open registration training in locations outside the Richmond area. Our goal is to provide conflict management and grievance procedure training to state employees across the Commonwealth who may not be able to attend our monthly training in Richmond.
Train-the Trainer Program
Budget permitting, EDR will offer a train-the-trainer program to assist agency training professionals in conducting conflict management and grievance procedure training for employees at their own agencies. Train-the-trainer sessions will be scheduled and announced in advance.
Certain EDR courses provide required credits toward the Commonwealth's new Managing Virginia Program (MVP) certification, and all EDR courses provide credits toward Human Resource Institute (HRI) and Virginia Certified Public Manager Program (VaCPM) certifications.
See Course Descriptions for more information. Contact Heather Schofield at heather.schofield@edr.virginia.gov or 888-232-3842 to discuss any aspect of EDR's training in more detail.
