Privacy Policy
It is the policy of the Commonwealth of Virginia that personal information about citizens will be collected only to the extent necessary to provide the service or benefit desired; that only appropriate information will be collected; that the citizen shall understand the reason that the information is collected and be able to examine any personal record that may be maintained by a public body.
Information we collect
This web site collects no personal information, except where personal information is voluntarily submitted by a customer when requesting a specific service provided by the Department of Employment Dispute Resolution.
Though personal information may be required in order for us to provide a requested service, in doing so we are subject to the requirements for administering information systems as established in the Government Data Collection and Dissemination Practices Act, Chapter 38 of Title 2.2 of the Code of Virginia.
This web site does not place a "cookie" on a customer's computer. A cookie is a message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them.
For each visitor, we may collect information about the Internet Protocol (IP) address, type of browser used, the date and time of the visit, and the IP addresses of the locations to which the visitor linked during his or her visit to our web site. This information is strictly used for statistical reporting purposes and no personal information is gathered.
